About Fidelis Resource Group
Fidelis Resource Group was formed by key contributors to a study by
the government of British Columbia, who sought to understand whether a
waste management system could be created that would reduce waste and be
more ecologically friendly. We found it could.
Fidelis has unique skills, processes and tools,
partnerships and methods, focused on sustainable planning and
implementation of infrastructure for communities. While our main
focus is resource recovery from waste, we provide a wide range of other
services and skills:
-
Energy & engineering.
Assessment of energy optimization and recovery for industry,
business and communities. This includes assessment and
planning for energy optimization, resource recovery from waste and
related oversight. Example: Quesnel electricity and heating
project, where energy will be scavenged from a pulp plant and
distributed using a district energy loop through the City of
Quesnel, British Columbia. For the Quesnel Economic Development
Commission (Fidelis in association with Farallon Consultants Ltd).
-
Ecological &
environmental. Assessment, planning and implementation of
ecological systems for government and landowners, including
management of regulatory processes and executive advisory services
on policy. Example: For Windmill West Developments, Dockside
Green creek design, planning and implementation. This
award-winning LEED Platinum project has at its heart a designed
creek which polishes water recovered from the sewage treatment
facility, located underneath the creek (Fidelis in association with
Aqua-Tex Scientific Consulting Ltd).
-
Governance & policy.
Strategic advisory on regulatory, governance and policy aspects
specializing in sustainability. Includes policy review and
assessment, facilitation and environmental advisory services.
Example: Integrated Resource Recovery Barriers Report for the BC
Ministry of Community and Rural Development. Assessed the
policy, regulatory and statutory framework to identify where
improvements could be made to enhance resource recovery.
